At the heart of an historic neighbourhood, this traditional market building from the 1960s underwent extensive remodelling work to a design by Melo Carvalho in 1991, which saw the addition of one more floor. The commercial space was altered with the introduction of proper shops to replace the former stalls. The most recent intervention by the Fundação Ricardo Espírito Santo Silva is designed for the installation of the Arts and Crafts Network in the space.
